About Me

My photo
Nicki
I have lived in North Carolina for nearly twenty years and have spent most weekends exploring and learning about North Carolina's extraordinary natural areas since I arrived. I completed my Ph.D. work in ecology at Duke University in 2008, and I enjoy recording natural history events, teaching, and photographing wildlife. I am joined on most of my explorations by my son and my husband, a talented veterinarian, nature photographer and gifted herpetologist.
